Yellow Poplar
This tree can grow anywhere on the map that is colored in.
The yellow poplar grows fast and is one of the tallest trees in the hardwood species. It grows in the Eastern United states, Southern New England, Southern Ontario and Michigan, and in East to North-Central Florida. They like lots of sun and are 70-90 feet high upon full growth. They have an oval shape. Its crown spread (the width of the crown of the tree) is about 40 feet upon full maturity. It can grow in many different types of soil and is usually used for decoration.
*Yellow poplar is a tree with many nicknames like tuliptree, tulip poplar or whitewood.
· *Grows between 70 and 90 feet
· *The yellow poplar grows from Connecticut and far Western Massachusetts down the East Coast into central sections of Florida.
· *Grows in settings such as damp forests, the very edges of meadows and slopes where water drains downward.
· * Two features of the yellow poplar give it the nickname "tuliptree", with one being the flowers and the other being its leaves.
· * Yellow poplar is tallest hardwood in North America.
